Wheelie Bins

In Beeston, there are different coloured wheelie bins for different kinds of rubbish/trash/waste.

You can check when the council will collect your bin here

Black Bin

This bin is for all waste which does not go in any of the other bins.

​

It will be collected every 2 weeks by the council

Glass Bin

This bin has a red lid, or you may have a bag for glass instead.

​

This is for empty and clean glass bottles and jars

Green Bin

This bin is for recycling.

​

Paper, tins and clean hard plastic can go in this bin.

​

Do NOT put plastic bags or bin bags in this bin

Brown Bin

This bin is for garden waste.

​

You have to pay the council extra for this bin. It costs around £45 a year.​

Littering

Littering means dropping rubbish in the street including cigarette butts, chewing gum and any other type of rubbish. If you drop litter in the street, you may be given a fine of £500 which you have to pay to the council.

​
